Monto Magic

Tag along tour – Monto Meet up

This is depending weather conditions suit.

It will be a beautiful scenic drive taking in the iconic Ventnor school. A sneak pic of some of the lush scenery 😉

    BYO: Lunch & Snacks. Vehicle.

Meet Up at the Post Office Park Newton Street Monto at 8:45am to depart at 9:00am.

We will head south along the Burnett Highway stopping for a photo opportunity at the Silos.

If you are from Mulgildie area and wish to join the drive please feel free to meet us at the silos.

From the Silos we’ll take Yarrol Rd and head out towards Yarrol stopping to check out the Grass Trees on the hillside before crossing splinter creek and onto Ventnor School where we will check out this lovely school building and enjoy our morning tea. The road is sealed to 4km before the school and we are then travelling dirt road, this road is good but does get a bit rutted and rougher along the way so Jacqui suggests ahigh clearance vehicle.

From the school we’ll take in Campbells corner and head along Mcleods Road following a very scenic route via hays road, Balls Road, Dakiel Road, Crana Road and Monto-Gladstone Road coming in to Mungungo,

We will stop to check out the weir, sadly it is dry but worth a stop then up to check out the lovely Mungungo Hall before stopping in at the Mungungo Pub for lunch/refreshments then back to the park.

Please advise if you have a spare seat or need a ride.

Things to bring, hat, camera, morning tea to share, Jacqui will have tea, coffee, sugar and milk with hot water but will appreciate extra hot water if you have a flask, a chair and some cash if you would like to purchase lunch or refreshments at the pub. Along the way there is a few roadside stalls so we will stop to check out these to support our locals. Look forward to see you all for a lovely Sunday Drive, weather permitting.
