DESCRIPTION:The Monto & District Show Society Cattle Drive & Trail Ride – Friday 5 June to Sunday 7 June 2026\n\nThis event is to be held on a local cattle property\, “Nestorvale” which is approximately 50 minutes from Monto and with no mobile phone reception.\n\n\n\nThe event commences on Friday afternoon around 4/5pm with a short Rider Assessment which is effectively a trail ride so we can make sure we’re comfortable with the behaviour of the horses and horsemanship of the riders before we are riding out with cattle on Saturday.\n\n\n\nThe ride on Saturday would be for about 20 kilometres with cattle and would depart after breakfast at approximately 7.30-8am returning around 3pm. Then we have a camp oven dinner for the evening meal which is quite social.\n\n\n\nSunday is then a shorter day again with a 3 – 5 kilometre trail ride again departing after breakfast at approximately 7:30-8am but finishing earlier prior to lunch around midday.\n\n\n\nThe Monto Cattle Drive and Trail Ride is hosted by a dedicated sub-committee of the Monto & District Show Society Inc\, a not-for-profit incorporated association established in 1929 to encourage and promote agriculture and primary industries within the District.\n\n\n\nThe Cattle Drive and Trail Ride is a major fundraising event for the Monto & District Show Society Inc.
