MEDIA RELEASE: Help Shape Future Housing and Employment Across the North Burnett
North Burnett Regional Council is inviting the community to participate in a series of consultation sessions to help plan for the region’s future housing and employment needs.
The consultation is part of Council’s Future Housing and Employment Program. The consultation will help identify local housing challenges, workforce needs, and accommodation options for seasonal and transient workers across the region’s six main townships.
Mayor Hotz said the sessions are an opportunity for residents, businesses and community groups to share their experiences and ideas.
“We want to hear directly from the community about what’s working, what’s needed, and how we can best plan for the North Burnett’s future,” the Mayor said.
What will the consultation sessions cover?
The sessions will gather feedback on:
• Housing availability and future needs
• Employment opportunities and workforce attraction
• Accommodation for seasonal and transient workers
Your input will help shape key studies on land supply, housing demand, township centres, and worker accommodation. These studies will culminate in the preparation of an overarching Master Plan for the North Burnett region, including place-based plans for the six (6) key townships.
Business and Industry Input
Council encourages businesses to participate and share their insights to ensure housing and employment strategies reflect real local needs.
