1080 Baiting

Council will be undertaking a baiting program during 26 – 30 October 2026.
Interested landholders are invited to nominate in the upcoming coordinated 1080 Wild Dog and Feral Pig Baiting Program by contacting Council on 1300 696 272 to register.
Bait distribution locations are to be confirmed as per regional response.
To receive baits landholders MUST adhere to the following:
- Provide a copy of their rates notice to the baiting station.
- Supply their own clean fresh meat (cut to size) – Wild Dog 250g and Feral Pig 500g.
- Bring sealed containers large enough to carry the quantity of baits (buckets and lids).
- Adjoining neighbour notification given at least 72 hours (3 days) prior and should be in either writing/email/phone call. A record of the notifications must be kept and presented to the Biosecurity Baiting Officer on the day.
- An “Authority to Sign” form is required if you intend to pick up baits on behalf of properties owned by another person.
- Display the provided 1080 Warning Signs on property entrance and exit points.
Landholders that do not comply with these conditions will NOT have their intended meat baits injected with 1080.
