Discover the many beautiful areas in the Monto region. These photos are of the Hurdle Gully Lookout in the Coominglah State Forest.
The easiest access is through the Coominglah Rest Area on the Burnett Highway approximately 20kms north of Monto.
We don’t recommend you travel this road if it has been raining.
There is another road that can be accessed via Airport Road, south of Monto.
This road is also a dry weather only road.
Picnic tables are provided but no other facilities. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the drive through the forest. Story boards have been erected to explain the significance of the area.
Be careful to stay on the designated roads as there are many tracks left over from the logging days.
